ALA Recycling Partners With Local School to Show the Creative Power of Cardboard Recycling
At ALA Recycling, we love finding creative, community-centered ways to promote sustainable practices—and we couldn’t be prouder to support the young artists at Westford Preschool this past holiday season.
Led by their incredible teachers—Mrs. Buliszak, Mrs. Kinnunen, and Mrs. Harding—the students transformed one of our recycled Gaylord boxes into a life-sized, hand-decorated gingerbread house. Using recycled materials and lots of imagination, the children brought holiday magic to life while learning the value of reusing and recycling.
Projects like this remind us that cardboard recycling isn’t just about waste reduction—it’s also a powerful tool for education, creativity, and community engagement.
What is a Gaylord Box?
A Gaylord box is a large, heavy-duty cardboard container often used in shipping and recycling. At ALA Recycling, we repurpose these durable boxes to support local schools and community events, helping to reduce waste while encouraging sustainability.
Why Recycled Art Projects Matter
Involving students in projects using recycled cardboard helps teach environmental responsibility in a fun, hands-on way. It’s also a great way for schools to incorporate sustainability into their curriculum without added cost.
Thank You, Westford Preschool!
We’re honored to have been part of this special project and are truly inspired by the creativity of these talented young students. We can’t wait to see what amazing things they’ll create next!
Happy New Year from all of us at ALA Recycling!
