A Background of Gaylord boxes
A Gaylord Box is a pallet-size box that can be used for storage and shipping of bulk materials and scrap. A Gaylord box can be also known as a triple-wall corrugated box, bulk box, bulk bin, skid box, or tote box.
The first bulk bins were originally manufactured by a small company, J. C. Bulis Company, based in Saint Louis, Missouri in the early 1900s. In the 1920s, the company was purchased by Robert Gaylord and renamed “Robert Gaylord Inc.” Later on after Robert’s nephew, Clifford, became president and changed the name to “Gaylord Container Corporation” and from there the term “Gaylord” started being used for the corrugated pallet box.
Gaylord boxes are designed for strength and to carry bulk and weight, it can be beneficial to use these if you are moving from your home, having items shipped or storing goods. These boxes can hold a weight capacity up to 5,000 lbs. and they also are available in a variety of sizes multiple purposes.
