Premium Grade A

Common Use: Retail Display

7 boards on top, 5 boards on bottom
6″ lead boards (top and bottom)
Average top deck spacing: 2-1/2″ to 3-1/2″
3 stringers (1-1/2″ x 3-1/2″)
4-way entry, flush
No block or metal repairs to stringers
Minimal to no paint or markings (small blackouts allowed)

Grade A

Common Use: Food, Pharmaceutical, and Clean Applications

7 boards on top, 5 boards on bottom
Average top deck spacing: 2-1/2″ to 3-1/2″
3 stringers (1-1/2″ x 3-1/2″)
4-way entry, flush
No block repairs
May have one metal repair plate
May show some paint or color coding on stringers

Premium Grade B

Cost-Saving Alternative Between A and B Grades

Same as Grade B pallets with only one stringer repair
Likely some paint, markings, or color-coded stringer ends
Fewer chips, cracks, or wear compared to standard Grade B

Grade B

Most Affordable Option for Warehousing and Shipping

6–7 boards on top, depending on board width (3-1/2″ to 5-1/2″)
Minimum of 4 bottom boards
Average top deck spacing: 2-1/2″ to 3-1/2″, can be up to 4″
3 stringers (1-1/2″ x 3-1/2″)
